When people dont listen

8 Oct 2013: Last week I had to go and have a CT Scan.

When my doctor was writing the referral he asked me if I could lie still for one minute? I replied with a laugh and a prompt ‘No!'

My doctor added that I needed to be sedated for the CT Scan.

Radiology was faxed the referral and the appointment was made. I fasted for the procedure and turned up for the CT Scan.

When I met the Radiographer she tried to convince me that I did not need the sedation and that it would be a waste of time to have it as most times sedation doesn't work for the patient. I told her I was happy to try her way but that in the past without sedation did not work and with the sedation a clearer scan was taken.

So, I started the scan without sedation and guess what?.... the scan was not clear (who'd of thought???)

We then waited for the doctor who sedated me and I was very still and they got a clear scan!!

Afterwards I was disappointed with myself as I should have stuck up for myself and refused to try without sedation… oh well, more experience and amo for next time!
