Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Talking About Sex in Wheelchairs

9 Dec 2013tasiw.com is an online outlet that talks openly about sex, love an intimacy for people in wheelchairs.

People with disabilities are often seen as non-sexual adults and this is observed in the community by the many wheelchair accessible toilets that are not gender specific.

From my experience as a married women in a wheelchair, I am often asked if I can have sex, but I am very seldom asked if/when I am going to have children.

The TASIW website is a great starting point for people in wheelchairs who want to overcome the shame, embarrassment and awkwardness associated with talking about sexual feelings, what avenues are available to you and help with the areas of touch, love, relationships and sex.

What I think is great about the TASIW website is that there are helpful pages for family & friends, spouses & partners, care givers & carers as well as people in wheelchairs. Together all can learn how to talk about sex
