Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

NDIS Stories

28 Jan 2014NDIS has now been rolled out and in place for the past 6 months in small Local Government Areas in each state.

The stories found on the NDIS website show real forward progress and acknowledge how you can't just lump people with a disability together with the same assistance and rights. Each person with a disability is unique and has different wants and needs, much like the ‘normal' population.

It's nice to see that with NDIS people with a disability are seen as unique individuals with OPTIONS to work or volunteer or go out in the community. To be fully integrated and not just tolerated but accepted

If they want to live alone, they will be supported to do this. To also decide when they want to get out of bed and go to bed are also addressed.

To read more of these stories in full, go to: http://www.ndis.gov.au/people-disability/videos-stories-quotes-and-cameos/stories

I hope these stories are the real deal. If anyone has experienced different – please share?
