Engadine High School Shame on You

16 Dec 2013Four students from the Support Unit, at Engadine High School were not invited to their Year 10 formal party.

The party was held at the prestigious ‘Doltone House' where an adult would have had to book it – that probably being a parent or student.

The school claims no responsibility and refuse to comment on the issue. There is a statement by the Principal on the Engadine High School website stating that permission notes were sent around the school to attend the Year 10 Formal but that no staff member was responsible for this. Wouldn't the school need to know what was on the note that was being passed around its school? Wouldn't someone have thought to invite the year 10 students in the Support Unit unless they really didn't want them there?

The funny thing is that they claim the party was raising money for the Support Unit – What a load of rubbish!

What needs to happen is that Engadine High School needs to have their Support Unit taken off them. When a school has a Support Unit the school has loads of extra funds thrown at them. What would have stopped them from inviting these four student from being invited to the party to be included and been invited to the party.

May this bad decision be dealt with formally and consequences ensue.
