AXIS turns 25

7 Sep 2014AXIS is a dance company of able bodied dancers and dancers in wheelchairs. AXIS has been wowing audiences for 25 years and has shown that a wheelchair can be used as part of dance and not seen as a hindrance.

AXIS have performed on So You Think You Can Dance as well as all over Europe and the US.

I love that creativity can have no bounds and that a wheelchairs art can inspire others to break down their own barriers.

In high school I performed in dance in PE classes. We would choreograph my piece so that I was sitting or crawling and that it fit nicely in the piece. My peers were very inclusive and wanted me to be part of their dance performances.
