iFly Downunder
26 Aug 2014:
One thing I have had on my ‘bucket list' for ages is to go Skydiving. I have wanted to do this for many years but it has always been out of my reach. There was a skydiving group running out of Penrith but the ground was too hard, then Picton skydiving closed down and then the closest group was in Wollongong, a couple of hours away.
Until now, about 10 minutes away is an indoor skydiving facility called ‘iFLY Downunder' and it is awesome.
The complex is fully wheelchair accessible and the staff are very friendly and helpful and have a ‘can do' attitude.
I booked online and had to sign a waiver, then once you turn up you check in at a computer kiosk.
You have to watch a video, then suit up, put in earplugs and goggles and you are set. Its best to wear a t-shirt (no collar), joggers and to remove all your jewellery.
Because of my twitches I had 2 instructors holding me the whole time I was flying. I would have had to jump tandem out of a plane anyway.
I felt totally safe and had heaps of fun. A must do wherever iFLY is up and running near you!
