What's Your Interpretation Of Employ-Ability??
6 Apr 2011:
It's that time again! Time to get out your video cameras and make a short film about focusing on the positive side of disability.....
Last year, we had three categories, which saw entries flooding in from all around the world. This year, things have changed a bit....
The competition is asking entrants to focus on Employ Ability in their short films. There will be a schools category, where school groups are encouraged to get together and create a masterpiece that will represent their school. There will also be an open entrant category, where anyone from around the world can enter their work of art in film.
Entries will be accepted from all around the world, and the prizes will once again, be huge! First prize for the schools category will be $AU5000.00 and runners up will receive $AU1500.00. Same thing for the open entrant category, first prize will receive $AU5000.00 and runners up will receive $AU1500.00. The competitions goal is to "educate people about the employ-ability of people with a disability in a fun and informative manner".
The competition is open now and closes on the 30th June 2011, so don't waste any more time! We are looking for your interpretation on focusing on the up side of hiring someone with a disability in the workplace. However, it is your interpretation, so go with your gut and get creating.
Once entries close, online voting will begin on the website, the public will be able to vote on their favourite short films, which will ultimately decide the winner. Last year saw thousands of votes coming in from all over the globe. The short films also attracted many positive comments from fans, hopefully it was just a taste of what this year's comp will bring.
All films are to be around five minutes in duration and the only limit is your imagination. So get filming people!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing this year's contestants and what they have to offer. For more information, please visit www.focusonability.com.au or send me an email, and good luck!
