Together a Difference is Made
21 Sep 2014:
Whilst trawling the internet to find a story to write about, I stumbled upon this photo of a blind man carrying a paralysed man on his back. The photo was taken by Tancrede Dumas circa. 1889.
You can find the photo at: http TARGET=new>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disability_in_the_media.
I find this photo beautiful in that the blind man is able to carry around the paralysed man. The paralysed man is able to direct the blind man to where he is going. Together they complement each other and both get to the end location.
I have found it fun and fascinating when disabled people help each other out. Together we can make thing happen.
A colleague of mine is in a low wheelchair and is unable to see into certain filling cabinets so I often help out in my high wheelchair to see and get files for her. We are often laughing at the great team work we do together.
Together we can make a difference!
