Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Stories of Experience

25 Jun 2013There is a website/blog called: ‘I am disabled – Stories of Experience'. One of the stories called “Disabled but Thankful”: http://www.experienceproject.com/stories/Am-Disabled/3127952 shows a supportive online community

The website lets people share their own stories and experiences of what it is like to be disabled. Not all the stories are worth reading, so you need to pick and choose. On the whole I think the website is a great idea as it gives people a voice and those reading it a feeling of community as they are not alone in their experience of being disabled.

At times it is only through reading other's stories that we understand ourselves and see that our experiences are normal and that we are not alone in the struggles of life.
