Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Jo-Blogs interviews David Bradbury

1 Dec 2009A couple of weeks back, I interviewed local member for Penrith's Lindsay Electorate, David Bradbury. I asked him all sorts of questions relating to disability issues. A video of the interview has been put up on YouTube, to view it, click on the link below...

Some of the questions include –

What is your view on employing someone who has a disability?

Do you think pensioners who receive the Disability Support Pension are given enough money for them to survive?

As you know, there is a shortage of public housing available in Western Sydney, even more shortage for those with a disability, are you aware of any measures to put the proposed millions of dollars for public housing towards buildings that will be suitable for disabled people?

You are an ambassador for the Samuel Morris Foundation, which was created after a local 2 year old boy survived a near drowning in 2006, why is this such an important issue to you?

My blog readers and I have come across a lot of incidences of people misusing disabled parking permits and disabled parking spaces, what's your view on this and what do you think needs to be done to stop it?

You also support the Luke Priddis Foundation, which supports families living with Autism, you talked about the Parliamentary Secretary working to deliver more services for Autism sufferers, are you aware of what these services will include?

I hope you all enjoy it and remember to post comments...

You're doing a great job! My son, late wife and her family all have OI in various degrees, but what is most remarkable is how much you look like my sister in law. Except for the big age difference, you could almost be twins. Heather has Oi and is about the same height. I would like to send you a picture one day so you can see the likeness.
