Injured Fire Fighters
14 Oct 2014:
I recently came across this story in the news that makes my blood boil.
Two fire fighters that have put their lives on the line to look after and save their community from the damage of fires have been deemed not fit enough to work as fire fighters any longer because of lung damage cause through fighting fires.
There is no insurance for them and they are not entitled to disability benefits.
The city of Wauwatosa refuses to help them.
One fire fighter, Tony Sanfelippo, won his case, however, the city is appealing.
Michel DeLisle is still in the process of having her case herd.
Meanwhile, both are struggling with the financial burdens, their savings have all gone and they are about to lose their houses.
Where is the justice in fighting for your community and your city's lack of support?
Luckily the community is fundraising to help them out a bit.
What are your thoughts, is it fair to be hurt at work, sacked and not supported by insurance?
