Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Disabled Asian Female

30 Jun 2014Today I came across this eloquently, beautiful story, written by, Nafisa Khanbhai, a Disabled Asian Female who shares her hopes and shattered dreams of living in Mombasa, Kenya.

Nafisa Khanbhai, works in a furniture shop owned by her family. She puts a lot of love and care into the work she does there. The furniture has never let her down, cheated her or judged her. The furniture has been the one constant.

Nafisa's writing is articulate and shares how her dreams of becoming a lawyer were crushed due to her disability and health conditions. Informed by his friend that they were no longer together, Her boyfriend of 8 years, left her to marry another.

Nafisa got to see how different countries treat disabled people when she travelled overseas, now this brave woman fights to have her country treat their disabled people like those overseas.
